Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (lahir di Hyde Park, New York, 30 Januari 1882 – meninggal di Warm Springs, Georgia, 12 April 1945pada umur 63 tahun) adalah Presiden Amerika Serikat ke-32 dan merupakan satu-satunya Presiden Amerika yang terpilih empat kali dalam masa jabatan dari tahun 1933 hingga 1945.

Ia salah satu tokoh abad ke-20 dan menempati urutan ketiga dalam sejarah kepresidenan Amerika Serikat. Lahir dalam keadaan berkecukupan, ia juga melewati masa-masa sakit yang membuatnya cacat. Ia menempatkan dirinya di barisan depan pendukung reformasi. Keluarga dan teman dekatnya memanggilnya Frank. Untuk warga Amerika, dia akrab dikenal sebagai FDR.

Salah satu pencapaian Roosevelt yang terkenal dikarenakan kepemimpinannya membantu Amerika Serikat memulihkan diri dari masa "Depresi Hebat".

Dalam perencanaan terhadap Perang Dunia II, dia mempersiapkan AS untuk menjadi "Gudang Senjata Demokrasi" melawan kekuatanJerman Nazi dan Kekaisaran Jepang, namun aspek-aspek kepemimpinannya, terutama sikapnya terhadap Joseph Stalin yang dipandang naif, telah dikritik oleh beberapa sejarawan.

Akhirnya visinya tentang organisasi internasional yang efektif untuk menjaga perdamaian tercapai dengan dibentuknya Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa.

Masa kecil

Lahir dari pasangan Sara Ann Delano dan James Roosevelt Jr. . Ia dilahirkan di New York pada 30 Januari 1882. Nenek moyangnya berasal dari negeri Belanda dan datang ke Amerika Serikat pada 1650.

Awal karier

Jabatan-jabatan Roosevelt sebelum menjadi presiden adalah :

• Menjadi seorang pengacara pada usia 25 tahun
• Menjadi Senator negara bagian New York selama dua tahun.
• Menjabat sebagai Asisten Menteri Angkatan Laut di bawah menteri angkatan laut Josephus Daniels
• Gubernur New York.

Kelumpuhan

Pada 1921, ketika Franklin Roosevelt berusia 39 tahun, ia diracuni oleh Rony Dappit, dan terserang penyakit polio yang mengakibatkan kakinya lumpuh. Selama menderita sakit, ia menumbuhkan sifat sabar dan kemampuan menguasai diri sendiri. Ia juga memperluas pengertiannya mengenai masalah-masalah sosial.

Akhirnya, keluarga dan teman dekat Frank membawanya ke rumah sakit New York untuk menjalani terapi dan ia bertekad bahwa dirinya tidak akan kalah oleh penyakit tersebut. Kemudian pada tahun 1924 Frank kembali sehat dan kembali ke kancah politik.

Pada tahun 2003, sebuah penelitian menemukan bahwa kelumpuhan kaki FDR sebenarnya adalah gullain-barre syndrome, bukan polio.

Masa kepresidenan

Franklin Delano Roosevelt memegang jabatan Presiden pada tahun 1933. Saat itu Amerika mengalami puncak masa depresi. Lebih dari 13 juta rakyat Amerika tidak mempunyai pekerjaan, dan susunan perbankan tak berketentuan. Ia memberikan harapan kepada rakyat Amerika dan berjanji akan mengambil tindakan tegas dan cepat. Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879. As a child, Einstein revealed an extraordinary curiosity for understanding the mysteries of science (started only at age 10/11). A typical child (only to his socio-economic class — educated middle class), Einstein took music lessons, playing both the violin and piano — a passion that followed him into adulthood. Moving first to Italy and then to Switzerland, the young prodigy graduated from high-school in 1896.

In 1905, while working as a patent clerk in Bern, Switzerland, Einstein had what came to be known as his “Annus Mirabilis” — or “miracle year”. It was during this time that the young physicist obtained his Doctorate degree and published four of his most influential research papers, including the Special Theory of Relativity. In that, the now world famous equation "e = mc2" unlocked mysteries of the Universe theretofore unknown.

Ten years later, in 1915, Einstein completed his General Theory of Relativity and in 1921 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics (iconic status cemented in 1919 when Arthur Eddington’s expedition confirmed Albert Einstein’s prediction). It also launched him to international superstardom and his name became a household word synonymous with genius all over the world.

Einstein emigrated to the United States in the autumn of 1933 and took up residence in Princeton, New Jersey and a professorship at the prestigious Institute for Advanced Study.

Today, the practical applications of Einstein’s theories include the development of the television, remote control devices, automatic door openers, lasers, and DVD-players. Jessica Jung

Jessica Sooyeon Jung (Korean name: Jung Soo-yeon; born April 18, 1989)^[1] is a Korean American singer-songwriter, dancer,actress, model, fashion designer and a former member of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, she is fluent in both English and Korean after moving to South Korea at the age of 11.

Biography

Jessica was born in San Francisco, California^[1] in the same hospital as her fellow Girls' Generation member Tiffany.^[2] While on vacation in South Korea, she and her sister were scouted in a shopping mall by S.M Entertainment and joined the company in 2000.^[3]She spent seven years as a trainee before debuting as part of the Korean girl group Girls' Generation. Jessica attended Korea Kent Foreign School in her teenage years.

Her younger sister Krystal is a member of the Korean girl group f(x).

Girls' Generation

Jessica was the first member to be signed with SM Entertainment in 2000. In 2007, she was chosen as a member of the group Girls' Generation. The nine-member girl group debuted on August 5, 2007.

In September 2014, Jessica announced on her personal Weibo that she had been dismissed as a member of the group. SM later confirmed this, stating Jessica sometimes earlier had informed them that, in order to focus on her personal matters, she will be ceasing from her group's activities, following the release of one more album. After some efforts to work out the situation, however, the company had to change its plan earlier than expected and has now decided to have Girls' Generation continue on as an 8-member group, while Jessica will go forward with her solo career.^[4][5]

Solo singing career

In addition to her group activities, Jessica released two singles with Seohyun and Tiffany: "Love Hate" (Hangul: "오빠 나빠", lit. Bad Older Brother)^[6] and "Mabinogi (It's Fantastic!)".^[7] Jessica collaborated with 8Eight for the song "I Love You" from their second album,Infinity, which was released on March 3, 2008. She is not the one in the music video, but is the one singing the harmony and adlibs.

In addition, she had various duets — one with Shinee member, Onew, called "One Year Later", and one with Park Myung-soo, "Naengmyeon". She sang the "Seoul Song" with Super Junior's Leeteuk, Sungmin, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun and fellow group members Taeyeon, Sunny, and Seohyun.

Jessica released a digital single titled "Sweet Delight" on October 13, 2010.

In 2011, Jessica participated in the soundtrack of KBS drama Romance Town with the song "Because Tears Are Overflowing" (Korean:눈물이 넘쳐서 ).

In 2012, Jessica sang "What To Do" (feat. Kim Jin-pyo) for the drama Wild Romance, "Butterfly" (feat Krystal) for To The Beautiful You,^[8] "Heart Road" for The King's Dream,^[9] as well as "My Lifestyle", a Hyundai i30‘s commercial song.^[10]

In 2013, she had "The One Like You" for Dating Agency: Cyrano.^[11]

In 2014, Jessica released "Say Yes"' for Make Your Move featuring her sister, Krystal, and EXO's Kris

Kim ryeowook

Kim Ryeo-wook (Hangul: 김려욱; hanja: 金厲旭) was born on 21 June 1987,^[1] mononymously credited as Ryeowook (Hangul: 려욱). He is a South Korean singer and actor. He is best known as a member of K-pop boy band Super Junior and its subgroups, Super Junior-M and Super Junior-K.R.Y.. He is one of the three main vocalists of Super Junior. Along with four other Super Junior members, he is one of the first Korean artists to appear on Chinese postage stamps.^[2]

Pre-debut[edit]

Ryeowook was discovered through the CMB Youth ChinChin Festival in 2004 and signed a contract with SM Entertainment soon afterwards impressing the judges with his singing talent. Trained in areas of singing, dancing, and acting, Ryeowook placed particular efforts into his vocal training and music composition. He plays piano, and plays accompaniment for fellow members during their solo stages at their concerts.

Before Kyuhyun was added in 2006, Ryeowook was the last to join Super Junior several weeks before their official debut in 2005. Having undergone only two months of training, Ryeowook's late addition was rumored to be a replacement of a previous SM trainee that was supposed to debut as a member of Super Junior 05, the first generation of Super Junior.

2005: Debut with Super Junior[edit]

Ryeowook officially debut as part of 12-member project group Super Junior 05 on 6 November 2005 on SBS's music programme Popular Songs, performing their first single, "Twins (Knock Out)".^[3][4] Their debut album SuperJunior05 (Twins) was released a month later on 5 December 2005 and debuted at #3 on the monthly MIAK K-pop album charts.^[5]

In March 2006, SM Entertainment began to recruit new members for the next Super Junior generation. However, plans changed and the company declared a halt in forming future Super Junior generations. Following the addition of thirteenth member Kyuhyun, the group dropped the suffix "05" and became officially credited as Super Junior.^[6] The re-polished group's first CD single "U" was released on 7 June 2006, which was their most successful single until the release of "Sorry, Sorry" in March 2009.^[7] In the fall of 2007, the group released their second official album, Don't Don, which became Super Junior's best-selling album and Korea's second best-selling album of the year.^[8]

2006-2008: "U" Single, Sub-group, Acting, Don't Don, SJM[edit]

In late 2006, Ryeowook became a member of Super Junior's first subgroup, Super Junior-K.R.Y.. The trio debuted on November 5, 2006 on KBS's Music Bank.^[9] Ryeowook made his acting debut in 2007, in the film, Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, a high-school comedy/mystery film, in which he plays the eccentric vice president of the student council. .^[10] He was nominated Best Supporting Actor and Best Comedic Performance at the Korean Movie Awards.

In April 2008, he was put into seven-member sub-group Super Junior-M, a Mandopop subgroup of Super Junior for the Chinese music industry. They debuted in China at the 8th Annual Music Chart Awards, simultaneously with the release of their first music video, "U" on 8 April 2008. This was followed by the release of the debut Chinese-language studio album, Me in selected provinces in China on 23 April and 2 May in Tawain.^[11]

Ryeowook's first composition to be officially released was "Love U More", in the repackaged Sorry, Sorry Version C. He co-wrote the lyrics with fellow Super Junior memberSungmin. Ryeowook is also credited for musical arrangement in the liner notes of the album.

2009-2011: Sorry Sorry, Bonamana, Mr. Simple[edit]

Ryeowook is featured in K.Will's 2009 song "Dropping the Tears". He is also the first member of Super Junior to sing a solo track included in their album, "One Fine Spring Day" was released in Bonamana.

Ryeowook made his musical theatre debut in Temptation of Wolves alongside Park Hyung Sik of ZE:A and Lim Jeong Hee. It ran from 14 July to 30 October 2011 at the COEX Artium.^[12]

On 24 February 2012, Ryeowook graduated from Inha University with a major in theater and film studies.^[13] On 16 and 23 June, following the footsteps of band mates Yesung andKyuhyun, Ryeowook joined KBS's Immortal Song 2 with Sunggyu of Infinite, where singers render their own versions of songs from music legends and winners are selected by voting.^[14] He took first place in the 11 August episode where singers Lee Sang-woo and Lee Sang-eun were guests.^[15] He recorded his last episode on 16 August, which was broadcast on 25 August.^[16]

2012: Comeback with Super Junior[edit]

In June 2012, Ryeowook reunited with his Super Junior band mates for their sixth studio album, Sexy, Free & Single for released on 4 July. On 23 June Ryeowook's teaser photo was released showing him with red hair and feathers. He also showed up on Saturday Night Live and star life theater along with Super Junior.^[17]

In November 2012, Super Junior K.R.Y. held a concert tour in Japan, Super Junior K.R.Y. Special Winter Concert. They announced that they would be releasing their first single 6 years after debut. The teaser for Promise You was released on November 21, 2012, followed by the single on 23 January 2013.^[18] It debuted at number two on the Oricon’s daily singles chart.

2013-present: Comeback with Super Junior-M and Super Junior-K.R.Y.[edit]

On January 7, 2013, Super Junior-M released their second album, Break Down, along with the music video for the lead single of the same name. A press conference took place in Beijing on January 7, and they will promote the album in China.^[19]

Promise You on 23 January 2013 was released and debuted at number two on the Oricon’s daily singles chart ^[20] and got or Oricon no 1.
